Our History

The Sigma Community Reinvestment and Empowerment Foundation, originally established in 2006 under the name Sigma Community Reinvestment and Empowerment Foundation, underwent an update in its organizational filing in August 2021 and was subsequently renamed as the Sigma 614 Foundation. This change reflects its ongoing commitment to serving the needs of Central Ohio communities and aligning its mission with evolving societal needs.

At its core, the foundation is dedicated to addressing systemic inequalities and disparities faced by people of color and the underserved population within Central Ohio. Its overarching mission is to elevate the quality of life by enhancing health outcomes, expanding educational opportunities, and fostering economic empowerment among these communities.
